Corynopuntia bulbispina is a species of cactus in the genus Corynopuntia, native to Mexico and the southwestern United States.
Description
Corynopuntia bulbispina is a low-growing cactus forming clumps of cylindrical to club-shaped segments. The segments are green to gray-green and bear numerous areoles with spines and glochids.
Spines are stout and often swollen at the base (a characteristic feature reflected in the species name), typically pale to brownish. Glochids are present and easily detached.
Flowers are usually yellowish to greenish, appearing near the tips of the segments. Fruits are dry and may remain attached to the plant.
