Acanthocalycium ferrarii is a species of cactus in the genus Acanthocalycium, native to Argentina.

Description

Acanthocalycium ferrarii is a small globose to short cylindrical cactus, typically growing solitary. Stems are dark green to slightly glaucous and can reach about 10–15 cm in height.

The plant has 10–15 ribs, clearly defined, with small areoles bearing dense clusters of spines. Radial spines are thin, numerous, and pale, while central spines are slightly stronger and darker.

Flowers are funnel-shaped, relatively large compared to the body, and usually white to pale pink, sometimes with a darker midstripe. They emerge near the apex.

Fruits are small, dry, and dehiscent, containing numerous tiny black seeds.
